Anguilla 2019 Tips

If you’re going to Anguilla Here is What You Need to Know!

Anguilla Travel Experience 2019

My girlfriend / fiancĂ© and I recently visited the beautiful island of Anguilla in the Caribbean.  We stayed at the Zemi Beach House.  There are several great hotels to choose from, we landed on Zemi Beach House for a few primary reasons:

  • It’s on Shoal Beach which is one of the top rated beaches in the world!
  • It’s boutique yet new feel created a cozy and amazing atmosphere - the property is amazing.
  • Sort of off the grid - most of the main hotels and restaurants are on one side of the island (the island itself has 16k population and is about 15 miles wide by 3-4 miles around.
I’d recommend you get a rental car - you can get a 3 or 5 day temporary license which costs $15 and our rental was $45 a day.  We did get the full coverage insurance.  Just remember to drive left. That part was odd at first, especially navigating the medians that were roundabouts.

We did spend some money ($600) to get a couples massage at their world renowned Spa which was absolutely blissful.

Out side the Spa here are some great restaurants you should consider (no procurer order)

  1. The Straw Hat
  2. Blanchard’s
  3. De’Vida
  4. Veya
A lot of people go to Sunshine shack but it was more overpriced and for some it’s fun, for us it seemed like a waste of time given everything the island has to offer.

Snorkeling is a must! Bring a go-pro camera for sure! We took our own snorkel gear as well.

Where Is Matt Cutts in 2016?

Rumors are surrounding the whereabouts of Matt Cutts, the once boisterous director of Spam at Google who acted as part engineer and park spokesman on behalf of Google.  Rumors of his taking leave was in part to a fallout of his marriage, to being recruited by Bing, even assassinated by Rand Fishkin!  One thing Obi Wan and Yoda taught Luke Skywalker was that when the shit hits the fan, you go into hiding.  So where is Matt Cutts and what happened to our Master Jedi?

In reality we have come to find out based on an insider who happens to be disguised as a Google Search employee (really working for the CIA) Cutts role was behind the curtain and what many did not know was to hand pick and manually insert sites that rank on page 1 and after millions of pages and manual work, he got burned out.  Those fancy algorithms we have all come to learn about being mostly named after zoo animals, were imagined and conceptualized after Cutts favorite pets he desired to have and because for Cutts, he felt like a zoo animal himself, locked up in a Google cage having to scrape through data.  Further disclosure confirms that Cutts was required to go through 10,000 sites every 2 hours as part of his job description or face what Google termed "negative reinforcement."  What that means is anybody's idea.
As Seen: Matt Cutts would be rewarded with an Oreo - Reeses
dessert when he did his job right that day.

A1 in lock up at a secret Google facility before his escape.
Based on what he liked best he would sort the websites in the SERP while dreaming of dancing with Panda's or ice fishing with Penguins. Eventually he found a way to escape the zoo and go into hiding but this is where the plot thickens.  At a recent SEO Convention the Moz Bot accidentally showed a piece of a map of what is to believed to be Cutts location in front of a large audience.  And Google is now have said to have disbursed their platoon known as The First Enforcers.  Ironically, just a few days ago after a long time away, a new blog arose on Cutt's page speaking of having fixed a Verizon voicemail code issue but if you read the blog based on source code snippets it is in fact an encryption code that contains a message of an awakening.  As any true "Googler" knows, Irina Blok stole the Android idea from Cutts in what equates to a Zuckerburg vs. Winklevoss twins battle, Cutts was the one that helped invent what would become an iconic logo for Google - the Android actual robot, he named it "A1" to help him in his daily routine of scanning and manually inserting pages in Googles search results.  They established a close friendship over the years and it was A1 who helped Cutts escape through systematic and predictive algorithmic mapping leading to a successful escape.  Sources say confirm that A1 was last spotted alone at 21st Amendment drinking beers and meeting with an informant only known as @TheWolfOfSEO.  Further research shows that twitter handle tied to an individual called Graham Ware from Scottsdale, AZ.  Could it be that A1 contains the rest of the map that would help lead to Cutts whereabouts?  The First Enforcers are on a manhunt for the Moz Bot as it seems they want to intercept any intelligence the bot may contain, specifically the portion of the map that was accidentally displayed.  The First Enforcers even took out an add in craigslist seeking bounty hunters to partake in the hunt.    Until then we can only hope that Cutts is doing well and hope he is indeed alive!

FTC Issues Penalty To Google 2015

Leave it to Big Government to Stick Their Nose Up At Google

You have to love our FTC friends. Officials at the Federal Trade Commission concluded in 2012 that Google Inc. used anticompetitive tactics and abused its monopoly power in ways that harmed Internet users and rivals, a far harsher analysis of Google’s business than was previously known. Give me a break.

The staff report from the agency’s bureau of competition recommended the commission bring a lawsuit challenging three Google practices. The move would have triggered one of the highest-profile antitrust cases since the Justice Department sued Microsoft Corp. in the 1990s.  A boy did that work for them... *sighs*

One of the big issues in question was whether Google used anticompetitive tactics for its search engine.  Apparently the competition staff recommended against a lawsuit, although it said Google’s actions resulted in “significant harm” to rivals. I guess by "harm" they really mean "they created a superior platform that kicked our asses and we couldn't keep up.  In three other areas, the report found evidence the company used its "monopoly behavior" to help its own business and hurt its rivals.  This would include establishing business partnerships with technology manufacturers and having such companies use Google products as defaults to consumers.  BUT the consumer still has the option to opt out, so again this seems to be another wasted effort by which the Government is looking to how they can squeeze money out of a seemingly multi-billion dollar venture.

Google General Counsel Kent Walker said in a statement Thursday that the FTC ultimately “agreed that there was no need to take action on how we rank and display search results.” He added: “Speculation about potential consumer harm turned out to be entirely wrong. Since the investigation closed two years ago, the ways people access information online have only increased, giving consumers more choice than ever before.”

Google has undeniable power and fiscal influence with a reach that arguably is more than that if the US Government itself and there in lies the issue.  Oh and for those that don't like Google, you can always rely on DuckDuckGo.

A Duck & Apple Become Friends...

Officially Announce Apple Partners with DuckDuck Go to be the primary Internet Search Provider....

How Will Google Respond...

After months of various security breaches from Target to no Home Depot – many users and consumers are finding themselves caught between two evils.  Using search engines that collect, mine and give data to BIG BROTHER US GOVERNMENT and or risk being hack attacked by some bum in China who then sends them a letter asking for ransom.   With that, many users including myself are turning to alternatives, not that I have anything to hide but I guess its my old soul mentality that falls back on the foundations in which our fore fathers fought and died for, you know the whole freedom, right to privacy aspect.

Behold, along came the innovators of DuckDuckGo, founded by Gabriel Weinberg.  While many would ask who in their right mind would launch a Search Engine this “late” in the game when the market is already flooded by Google, Yahoo and Bing etc.  DuckDuckGo has tailored their SERP to the likes of those wanting privacy and protection.   Make no mistake, DuckDuckGo has quickly become the little search engine that could. In the nearly impossible to break-into search engine space, this company that doesn’t sell, or even collect user information confirmed an epic partnership with Apple to be the company's built-in search engine for the soon-to-be released iOS and OSX. But in the end, it could be Apple who stands to benefit most.

While the percentage of Safari users dropped by 6 percent between September 2013 and April 2014, DuckDuckGo more than tripled its monthly users since Edward Snowden one year ago revealed the U.S. government was compelling Google and others to divulge user information. This could all be very good news to Apple.

DuckDuckGo has raised $3 million in venture capital from Union Square Ventures and others, according to Crunchbase, and makes money by syndicating some of its search results via the Microsoft-Yahoo Search Alliance in exchange for a payment-per-click on links marked as “Sponsored.” We’ve reached to to DuckDuckGo to ask if its work with Microsoft and Yahoo will be impacted by the deal and will keep you posted as we learn more.
