If you’re going to Anguilla Here is What You Need to Know!
Anguilla Travel Experience 2019
My girlfriend / fiancé and I recently visited the beautiful island of Anguilla in the Caribbean. We stayed at the Zemi Beach House. There are several great hotels to choose from, we landed on Zemi Beach House for a few primary reasons:
- It’s on Shoal Beach which is one of the top rated beaches in the world!
- It’s boutique yet new feel created a cozy and amazing atmosphere - the property is amazing.
- Sort of off the grid - most of the main hotels and restaurants are on one side of the island (the island itself has 16k population and is about 15 miles wide by 3-4 miles around.
I’d recommend you get a rental car - you can get a 3 or 5 day temporary license which costs $15 and our rental was $45 a day. We did get the full coverage insurance. Just remember to drive left. That part was odd at first, especially navigating the medians that were roundabouts.

We did spend some money ($600) to get a couples massage at their world renowned Spa which was absolutely blissful.

Out side the Spa here are some great restaurants you should consider (no procurer order)
- The Straw Hat
- Blanchard’s
- De’Vida
- Veya
A lot of people go to Sunshine shack but it was more overpriced and for some it’s fun, for us it seemed like a waste of time given everything the island has to offer.
Snorkeling is a must! Bring a go-pro camera for sure! We took our own snorkel gear as well.
